With 177+ marine species recorded in the area - including barracuda, bull sharks, dolphins, eagle rays and nurse sharks - Punta Negra offers some of Cozumel's richest diving. Water ranges 27-30°C, warmest August, September, October.
Punta Negra on Cozumel's south end gives you a drift over sand flats and scattered coral heads. We often spot eagle rays cruising past, especially between December and February. It's a relaxed dive, good for new divers looking to get comfortable with Cozumel's currents, or anyone wanting a chill second tank. Keep an eye out for nurse sharks tucked under the ledges.
