Why dive here
With 195+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue whales, dolphins, humpback whales, nurse sharks and orcas - El Islote offers some of Sea of Cortez's richest diving. Water ranges 21-31°C, warmest August, September, October.
El Islote, or "The Islet," is a popular spot in the Sea of Cortez, often combined with a trip to Los Islotes. It’s a good place to find sea lions, especially younger ones curious about divers. We've seen rays gliding over the sandy patches between the rocks here too. It's a relaxed dive, good for photographers or those looking for an easy second dive.
