Tingley Rock - Alaska

Sunabe, in the Kerama Islands, is one of our favourite spots for a truly relaxed dive, especially when the current picks up elsewhere. It’s not flashy, but it delivers consistent, fascinating macro life, making it a dream for photographers or anyone who loves to slow down and really look. We often find ourselves settling in on a coral head, surrounded by Green Wrasse and Orange-axil Wrasse darting in and out, just watching the intricate ecosystem unfold. What we love most about Sunabe is its predictability for small stuff. Keep your eyes peeled for those Seastar Shrimp, delicately navigating their namesake, and the always-entertaining Short-head Sabretooth Blenny peeking from its hole. We've had great luck here finding Black Spotted Blow Fish hiding amongst the rubble. The site itself is a gentle slope, mostly sand and scattered coral bommies, which means plenty of nooks and crannies for critters. Visibility is usually good, often 20 metres plus, and with minimal current, it’s a site you can really spend time exploring. It's a perfect second or third dive of the day when you're after something a bit calmer.
