Winnifred Rocks - Alaska

The Wrack Coriolanus, off Istria, isn't just a dive; it's a quiet trip back in time. We love this site because it feels like stepping onto a ghost ship, a real piece of history resting upright on the seabed. There's a particular stillness here that you don't always get at busier wrecks. The ship's bow points towards the surface, an almost ghostly sentinel, and you can swim through the holds, feeling the cool water slide over the rusted metal. Sunlight filters down, illuminating schools of fish darting in and out of the structure. We’ve often spotted the Blackspotted Smoothhound here, sleek and elegant, patrolling the deck. Our favourite part is lingering near the stern, watching the light play on the propellers. It’s a dive for those who appreciate the quiet dignity of a wreck, the stories it holds, and the way marine life reclaims man-made objects. Go early in the morning for the best visibility and that truly undisturbed feeling.
