With 87+ marine species recorded in the area - including bull sharks, dolphins, hammerhead sharks, seahorses and sea turtles - Drifting Spot offers some of Florida Keys's richest drift diving. Water ranges 19-32°C, warmest July, August, September.
The Drifting Spot lives up to its name, offering a solid drift dive along a spur and groove reef. We've seen plenty of schooling grunts and snapper here, often with a passing reef shark or two if you're lucky. It's a relaxed dive, perfect for photographers wanting to glide along and compose shots without finning too hard. Best suited for intermediate divers comfortable with current.
Safety Notes
Drift dive - carry a surface marker buoy (SMB) and stay with your group. Brief the current direction before entry.
