Why dive here
With 87+ marine species recorded in the area - including bull sharks, dolphins, hammerhead sharks, seahorses and sea turtles - Lugano offers some of Florida Keys's richest diving. Water ranges 19-32°C, warmest July, August, September.
The Lugano sits in the Upper Florida Keys, an accessible wreck for most divers. We’re talking about a small, modern freighter, deliberately sunk to create an artificial reef. Expect to see plenty of schooling fish darting through the cargo holds, with resident barracuda often patrolling the mast. It’s a nice, easy dive, good for shaking off the rust or getting some bottom time on a multi-tank day.
