Sand Key Lighthouse - Florida Keys
Sand Key Lighthouse is one of those easy Keys dives, just off Key West. The reef here is mostly sandy, a good spot for finding critters like southern stingrays half-buried in the substrate or a queen conch slowly making its way across the bottom. At just 10 meters, it’s a nice shallow profile, perfect for beginners or anyone looking for a relaxed second dive. We’ve found the visibility can be a bit variable depending on the season and recent weather, but on a good day, it’s a pleasant drift around the old lighthouse structure. Keep an eye out for nurse sharks tucked under the coral heads that dot the sandy stretches.
