Olympus Dive Center - North Carolina
The team at Olympus Dive Center are the real deal, no doubt about it. If you’re serious about wreck diving, particularly the kind that involves historical ships and big sand tiger sharks, this is your place. We love that they’ve been running trips to the Graveyard of the Atlantic for decades. They know these wrecks like the back of their hand, which makes all the difference when you’re dropping down onto a dark, hulking battleship like the *USS Aeolus*. Our favourite part of diving with Olympus is the sheer density of diveable wrecks they access. You can do multiple dives a day, and never hit the same site twice for a week. We’d suggest going in late spring or early fall. The water is still warm enough, and the summer crowds have thinned out, giving you a bit more elbow room on the boats. Expect strong currents sometimes, it’s the Atlantic after all, but that’s part of the thrill, bringing in those massive schools of baitfish and, consequently, the sharks. They run a tight ship, very professional, and we always feel safe heading out with them, even on the deeper dives.
