Indra - North Carolina

The Indra, a German U-boat casualty from WWII, offers a solid wreck dive off the North Carolina coast. She rests in roughly 70 feet of water, often surrounded by sand tigers, especially in late summer. We find the main structure largely intact, with plenty of entry points for those with proper wreck training, letting you navigate through cargo holds and crew quarters. The wreck’s vertical profile means schooling baitfish often swirl above, drawing in larger pelagics like barracuda. It’s a good choice for divers comfortable with moderate currents and who appreciate a significant piece of history now thoroughly reclaimed by the Atlantic.
