Kelvin Grove Dive Site
Why dive here
With 35+ marine species recorded in the area - including humpback whales, orcas and seals & sea lions - Kelvin Grove Dive Site offers some of Pacific Northwest's richest reef diving. Water ranges 7-17°C, warmest July, August, September.
Kelvin Grove is a reliable shore dive in the Pacific Northwest, one we often swing by when we’re looking for something accessible. Drop in and you’re quickly among the usual suspects: plenty of Dungeness crab scuttling across the silty bottom and we’ve spotted California spot prawns too, usually tucked into crevices. Keep an eye out for the slender blade shrimp – they're smaller than you might think but their translucence is pretty cool. It’s a good spot for a relaxed exploration, suitable for newer divers or those who just want to unwind and observe the local residents like the occasional blackbelly eelpout or a resting common seal.
