Blue Water House Reef - Hurghada

Blue Water House Reef isn't going to win any beauty contests, not like some of the offshore pinnacles, but for a convenient shore dive, it’s got real character. We usually drop in straight from the beach, and even in the shallows, the activity starts immediately. Look closely among the rocky outcrops; we’ve spotted more mimic blennies and blackline fangblennies here than anywhere else in Hurghada. The reef itself is a mix of scattered coral heads and sandy patches, providing shelter for surprisingly varied life. We often find small groups of drummers and scissortail sergeants zipping around the staghorn corals. Keep an eye out for the resident dapple coris, always a flash of colour. It’s a great site for macro enthusiasts who don't mind putting in a little effort, or for divers looking for a relaxed second or third dive without a boat trip. We've even been lucky enough to see a grey dolphin cruise by once, a truly special moment right off the shore. It’s a forgiving dive, rarely with strong current, making it perfect for photographers or those just wanting to unwind.
