Carless Reef - Hurghada

Carless Reef is one of those Hurghada spots we try to hit when the weather plays along. It’s an exposed, mid-sea reef, so if the wind's up, you're not going. But when it's calm, it offers a solid dive. We usually drop onto a plateau that rises from deep water, leading to two big pinnacles. You often find schools of fusiliers here, moving in a shimmering curtain, sometimes so thick you wonder where they're all going. Look out for the resident grey sweetlips hanging around the overhangs, and we’ve seen bottlenose dolphins cruising by in the blue more than once. The current can pick up, making it a drift, so it's better for divers comfortable with a bit of movement.
