EL JASMINE - Hurghada

El Jasmine is one of those Hurghada wrecks we always make time for, even with the bigger names in the area. She’s a motor vessel, not huge, but deep, sitting upright on a sandy bottom at 60 metres. It’s a dive for advanced wreck divers, for sure. The structure itself is still remarkably intact, which is what we love about her. You can fin along the deck, peer into the superstructure, and imagine her working life before she sank. The real beauty here is how marine life has just taken over. Her mast points up into the blue, covered in soft corals swaying gently in the current. Schools of glassfish swarm in and out of the wheelhouse, catching the light as you pass. We’ve spotted moray eels peeking out from various nooks and crannies, and often a grumpy stonefish or scorpionfish blending perfectly into the deck plates. Keep an eye on your bottom time; 60 metres flies by, but there’s plenty to explore. We’d suggest a sidemount configuration for easier internal navigation, though penetration here is limited and requires proper training.
