Gamul Soraya - Safaga

Laguna Beach might not get as much chatter as some of Roatán’s big names, but we really enjoy its quiet charm. It’s a solid wall dive, starting shallow and gently sloping down to around 19 meters, with plenty of nooks and crannies to explore. We’ve found the soft corals here are particularly lush, swaying with the slight current, and often revealing things like the vibrant Coral Scorpionfish camouflaged amongst them. What makes Laguna Beach stand out for us is the variety of smaller, often overlooked creatures. Keep an eye out for Pygmy Filefish hiding in gorgonians, and we’ve spotted plenty of Saddled Blennies peeking from their holes. The sheer number of Angelfish and Blue Parrotfish gives the reef a constant buzz of colour and movement. Visibility often hovers around 15-20 meters, which is perfect for soaking in the details. It’s a site that rewards a slow, deliberate dive, great for macro enthusiasts or anyone looking for a relaxed exploration away from the crowds. We’d suggest going in the morning; the light seems to hit the wall just right then.
