Jackson reef is a reef dive where divers can encounter dolphins, spinner dolphins and whale sharks. Water ranges 23-30°C, warmest July, August, September.
Jackson reef, sitting at the northernmost edge of Tiran, often has us battling a bit of current, but it’s usually worth the effort. We’ve seen a few different dolphin species here – bottlenose, bridled, even a false killer whale once, if you’re really lucky. The reef itself has some decent coral coverage, with plenty of cowfish and blennies tucked into the cracks. It’s a good spot for a drift dive, especially for those comfortable with a bit of movement.
