Straits of Tiran is a reef dive where divers can encounter dolphins, spinner dolphins and whale sharks. Water ranges 23-30°C, warmest July, August, September.
Diving the Straits of Tiran, it's those four reefs – Jackson, Woodhouse, Thomas, and Gordon – that truly capture your attention. The Red Sea funnels through here, kicking up plenty of nutrients, and you feel that current. It can be a proper ride, sometimes, but that’s precisely why the big stuff shows up. We’ve seen bottlenose dolphins cruising through the blue, and on a really good day, a whale shark might just glide by. If you’re comfortable with a bit of drift and want to see some serious pelagics and schooling fish along dramatic walls, Tiran is a solid choice out of Sharm.
