GRIGORIS TSIRIKOS II - Eilat

The *Grigoris Tsirikos II*, sometimes just called the ‘Gorgonian Wreck’ by local dive guides, sits upright at a nice, easy 12 metres. It’s a proper ship, almost 77 metres long, which means you can really get a sense of its scale without needing to push your depth limits. We love how accessible it is, perfect for multiple dives in a day, letting you properly explore its length. She went down in 1992 after hull damage near Ras Shukheir, and you can still see the evidence of her struggle, especially around the engine room. Our favourite part is the bridge, still largely intact, with schools of glassfish shimmering inside the wheelhouse, catching the light as you peer through the windows. Look for moray eels tucked into crevices along the deck, and we’ve often spotted lionfish perched regally on the railings. Given the shallow depth, you get fantastic ambient light, illuminating the sponges and soft corals that have started to bloom across the metalwork, making it feel less like a ghost ship and more like a living reef. It's a fantastic site for newer wreck divers or photographers wanting good light and plenty of time on the bottom.
