PRIDE OF AL SALAM 95 - Eilat

The Pride of Al Salam 95, or just "The Ferry" as we often call it, sits upright in Eilat, a proper deep dive at 35 metres. It’s an enormous vessel, a 139-metre-long ferry that met its end in 2005. Descending onto the wheelhouse is a dramatic experience; the sheer scale of it hits you immediately. We love how the Red Sea’s clear water lets you take in so much of the wreck at once, even from a distance. Our favourite part has to be exploring the car deck, the light filtering in through the vehicle ramps creating these ethereal beams that dance with the dust kicked up from the occasional fin stroke. You’ll spot lionfish lurking in doorways and schools of fusiliers swirling around the superstructure. Penetration here is really only for those with advanced wreck training, but there’s plenty to see from the outside for competent deep divers. Expect a good hour of bottom time if you're managing your gas well, allowing you to really absorb the atmosphere of this sleeping giant.
