TIGRE & PANTERA - Jeddah

Diving the *Tigre* and *Pantera* is a journey back in time, and frankly, one of our favourite wreck dives in the Jeddah area. These two identical Italian destroyers, scuttled together in 1941, lie upright and surprisingly intact in around 40 metres. We love dropping down onto the main deck, often finding schools of jacks swirling around the mast, which still reaches up towards the surface. The sheer scale of these vessels, both over 110 metres long, is impressive. You can trace the deck, pick out the mounts for the 4.7-inch guns, and even spot the remains of the torpedo tubes. Inside, penetration is limited and requires proper training, but just swimming along the outside, peeking into the various openings, reveals a surprising amount of soft coral growth. Look for moray eels tucked into crevices and lionfish patrolling the railings. It’s a site that really makes you think about its history, perfect for experienced divers who appreciate a well-preserved piece of maritime past.
