DAMMAM 28 - Dubai & Abu Dhabi

The Dammam 28 is a proper wreck, not just a pile of rubble. We always appreciate a vessel with a story, and this tug, sunk while under tow back in 2001, definitely has one. It’s sitting upright at 30 metres, which we love because it feels like you're diving a ship rather than just a broken-up hull. You can clearly make out the wheelhouse, the superstructure, and the stern, creating great swim-through opportunities for those comfortable with overhead environments. For us, the real joy here is seeing how marine life has absolutely embraced it. Batfish hang around the mast, often seeming to eye you up as you approach. We've seen schools of snapper streaming through the holds, glinting in the shafts of light that penetrate the gloom. The size is manageable enough for a good hour-long dive, allowing you to explore the exterior thoroughly and peer into the darker recesses. It's a solid dive for anyone comfortable at depth and looking for something more structured than a reef. We'd suggest aiming for a slack tide; the currents here can pick up, making navigating the wreck a bit more challenging.
