GEX ONE - Dubai & Abu Dhabi
The GEX ONE isn’t just another sunken vessel. It’s a proper platform wreck, meaning there’s plenty of structure to explore. We love that it went down way back in '89, giving marine life decades to really make it home. Think robust schools of yellowtail snapper swirling around the superstructure, and moray eels peeking out from every crevice. Our favourite find here is always the resident honeycomb morays, big and bold, often just hanging out in the open. At 24 metres, it's a solid dive for advanced open water divers who appreciate a good wreck penetration. You can swim through some of the larger compartments, feeling the cool surge inside, which is always a thrill. Just keep an eye on your no-deco time. Visibility averages around 10-15 metres on a good day, so it never feels too dark, but a good torch is still essential for peering into the deeper sections. If you time your dive for slack tide, the current is manageable, making for a relaxed exploration of this substantial artificial reef.
