LUDWIG - Dubai & Abu Dhabi

Ludwig isn't your typical Red Sea coral haven, and that's precisely why we love it. This isn't some ancient wreck discovered by chance, this is a purposefully sunk tanker, put down by the UAE Navy for target practice. The holes from those practice rounds add a dramatic, almost skeletal feel to the 60-meter hull as you descend, making the penetration points a little more interesting, if a little more precarious. We always approach Ludwig expecting something a bit different, a raw, industrial beauty that’s slowly being reclaimed. Schools of jacks and barracuda often swirl around the bow, catching the light as they move. Inside, where the light struggles to reach, you’ll find the real character of the wreck emerging, with stubborn little corals starting to cling to bulkheads and the occasional moray peeking from a pipe. It's a fantastic site for anyone who enjoys wreck diving with a bit of a story and isn't afraid of a slightly more challenging exploration. We'd suggest going on a rising tide for the clearest visibility, but always keep an eye on those currents, they can pick up quickly here.
