This isn't some deep, dark technical challenge; it's a manageable 13-meter sit-on-the-sand barge that’s become a vibrant artificial reef. We love how accessible it is, making it perfect for newer wreck divers or anyone wanting a relaxed dive with plenty to see without the pressure of strong currents or complex navigation. Dropping down, the first thing you notice is the sheer volume of resident fish. Small snapper and grunt hover in dense schools, swirling in and out of the barge’s open sections. Look closely and you’ll spot moray eels tucked into crevices, their heads poking out with that characteristic curious gaze. The wreck itself is largely intact, offering easy swim-throughs into cargo holds where the light filters down, creating an almost ethereal glow. It’s a photographer’s dream, especially when the light is just right in the late morning, illuminating the colourful soft corals that have started to colonise the metalwork. Our favourite part is finding the nudibranchs inching their way across the rust-coloured plates – a real testament to how quickly marine life reclaims man-made structures. This site might not be an ancient galleon, but it offers a solid, satisfying wreck experience with plenty of life.
