NASSRIN - Dubai & Abu Dhabi
The NASSRIN isn’t your typical Dubai wreck. Sure, plenty of purpose-sunk vessels populate these waters, but the NASSRIN went down the old-fashioned way, hitting an offshore platform back in '78. That collision adds a certain character, an authentic twist you don’t find everywhere. Lying at 60 metres, this old supply vessel is a serious technical dive, no question. We’ve always found the deep, dark journey down to be part of its allure; the way the light fades, giving way to the loom of the wreck as you approach. You’ll want your trim dialled in and your gas planning meticulous for this one. The wreck itself is largely intact, a substantial silhouette against the seabed. We love picking out details like the davits still reaching out from the deck, or imagining the bridge structure before it started to collapse. Given the depth and the often-low visibility, it feels like exploring a ghost ship, a real sense of history. While it’s not teeming with the colourful reef fish of shallower sites, we’ve often spotted large groupers lurking in the shadows and barracuda patrolling the deck. This is a dive for experienced technical divers who appreciate historical wrecks and the challenge of depth over vibrant coral gardens.
