W D KENT - Dubai & Abu Dhabi

The W D Kent is pure wreck diver candy, sitting at a challenging 55 metres. We love this site for its history, a working platform vessel that went down in 1976 after a drilling barge broke loose during a storm. Dropping down, you feel the depth, the light fading, and then the structure starts to resolve – a serious hulk of twisted metal, home now to schools of fusiliers that swirl like liquid silver. We find the real magic here in the engine room, if you’re properly trained and comfortable with penetration, where the machinery is still eerily intact. Outside, the decks are collapsing, but the sheer scale of the wreck is impressive; it’s a proper expedition. Look for large groupers lurking in the shadows and barracuda patrolling the perimeter. This site is for experienced technical divers, no question, demanding excellent buoyancy and gas management. Do it right, and it’s a dive that stays with you.
