MUSTAFA 1 - Fujairah

The Mustafa 1. Our pick for Fujairah’s best wreck, hands down. This former supply vessel, deliberately sunk in 2018, sits upright at a very comfortable 19 metres. What we love about it is how quickly it’s become an artificial reef. You can spend a whole dive exploring the various decks and the bridge, which is surprisingly intact, considering its relatively recent sinking. The sheer volume of fusiliers around the superstructure is incredible, often schooling so densely they momentarily block out the sun. Look closely and you’ll spot resident moray eels peeking from pipes, while kingfish and barracuda often cruise by in the blue. For macro fans, the amount of nudibranchs on the railings and growing corals is a real treat. We’d suggest getting here early, before the dive boats stack up, to really appreciate the quiet colonisation of this wreck. It’s perfect for open water divers looking for their first proper wreck penetration, but there’s plenty to keep more experienced divers busy too.
