My Princess - Fujairah

My Princess is our pick for Fujairah wreck diving, a proper ship that demands a second or third dive to really appreciate. She sits upright, pretty much intact, at a manageable 24 metres. We love the way the light filters down through the upper decks, creating these shafts that illuminate the schools of snapper milling about inside. Her character comes from the way she’s been colonised; a true artificial reef now. Look out for moray eels tucked into every crevice, and the resident groupers that eye you suspiciously from the darker corners. You can swim through several cargo holds, where fusiliers often create a shimmering curtain. Our favourite part is exploring the stern, where the prop shaft is still visible, encrusted with soft corals. It’s a comfortable dive, usually with mild currents, making it ideal for those who want to practice wreck penetration without anything too challenging. We’d suggest going early in the morning for the best light and fewer other divers.
