OCEAN STAR - Fujairah

The Ocean Star wreck, sunk in 1977, is a Fujairah classic for a reason. We love it because it’s so accessible, sitting in just 4 meters of water, meaning you can spend a long time exploring every nook and cranny. You’ll find the hull largely intact, settled on a sandy bottom, with big sections that are perfect for peering inside. Our favourite part is navigating through the old cargo hold, where light filters down from the surface, illuminating schools of snapper that dart around the shadowed spaces. It's a fantastic spot for newer divers, offering a real wreck experience without the depth. The light here is often brilliant, turning the wreck’s metal into a kaleidoscope of blues and greens as the sun hits it. Look closely and you’ll spot moray eels tucked into crevices, and we’ve seen plenty of lionfish patrolling the deck plates. Keep an eye out for the resident nudibranchs too; they often add a splash of unexpected colour to the encrusted metal. It’s not a deep dive, but it’s a rich one, full of texture and life.
