VICTORIA STAR - Fujairah

The Victoria Star, she’s a proper dive for anyone keen on a good wreck. Sunk back in 2013, this 81-metre carrier sits upright at 21 metres, making it an easy drift down the line. We love how quickly marine life has taken hold here; it’s fascinating to see the transformation. Her size means there’s plenty to explore. You can spend a whole dive just circling the deck, peering into the holds, or checking out the bridge area. Keep an eye out for batfish hanging around the superstructure, and we’ve often spotted stingrays tucked away under the hull, especially on the sandier patches. Our favourite time to dive is early morning, before the dive boats really hit their stride. The light shafts filtering through the top decks are something else then, and the barracuda tend to be more active. She's a good photographic subject too, with her interesting lines and depth. Currents can pick up, but generally, she’s a comfortable dive, even for those newer to wreck diving.
