XYLOS - Fujairah

The Xylos is a serious wreck, a tanker that sank back in '87 after missile damage. It's a big ship, over 220 metres long, which means you're never going to see it all in one dive. We often focus on the stern section, where the prop is usually still visible, or the bow, which always feels more dramatic. Because it's been down for so long, the metalwork is thoroughly encrusted. You’ll find plenty of snapper and fusiliers congregating around the superstructure, and we’ve even spotted a turtle or two cruising by. It’s a good dive for those who appreciate the history of a wreck and don't mind a deeper profile. Visibility can vary, but on a good day, the scale of it is quite something.
