BAITTI - Mar del Plata
BAITTI isn't deep, but it’s packed with history and surprisingly good diving for Mar del Plata. We love how accessible it is, sitting just a stone's throw from the shore at a uniform 5m. This makes it a fantastic second dive or a relaxed afternoon exploring the bones of the old fishing trawler. The wreck itself is well-broken, scattered across the seafloor, but you can still make out the ribs of the hull and sections of its deck. It's a real joy to poke around the metal plates, watching the light play through the gaps. On a good day, with a bit of sun, the visibility pushes past 10 metres, and the place just lights up. Our favourite part? The sheer number of crabs and small fish that have made it home. We’ve seen octopuses tucked into crevices, nudibranchs crawling along the rusty beams, and schools of silversides shimmering around the remaining structure. It’s not a deep blue experience, but it’s a charming look at history and the resilience of marine life.
