DIOGENES - Mar del Plata

Okay, so Diogenes. Forget depth, forget chasing pelagics. This isn't that kind of dive, and honestly, we love it for being so unapologetically different. Diogenes sits just two metres down, a skeleton of an old fishing trawler broken in two, right off the coast of Mar del Plata. It’s an easy shore entry, usually just a short walk through the surf, which makes it perfect for a relaxed afternoon. What you'll find here is pure, unadulterated wreck character. The steel plates are draped in kelp and thick with mussels, creating these incredible textured surfaces. Sunlight filters through the shallow water, dancing across the barnacle-encrusted metal. We’ve spent hours just finning slowly, poking around the ribs of the hull, spotting crabs scuttling into crevices, and watching small schools of fish dart in and out of the shadows. It’s a shallow dive, but it feels surprisingly substantial. Bring your macro lens; the smaller life here is the real star, and the light is often fantastic for photography.
