GABARRA - Mar del Plata

Gabarra isn't your typical colourful reef dive, and we love it for that. This isn't about tropical fish, it's about history and the sheer atmosphere of an old wreck in shallow water. It sits at a mere three metres, which makes it perfect for a long, relaxed exploration. You can spend ages poking around the various sections, feeling the cold steel under your fingertips. What you'll find here is a surprisingly vibrant ecosystem, given the depth. It’s absolutely covered in anemones and small crabs scuttling over the rusting hull. We've seen schools of silversides darting in and out of the crevices, and we always keep an eye out for conger eels tucked away in the darker corners. The visibility can vary, but on a good day, with the sun filtering through the green water, the light play inside the wreck’s skeletal remains is really something special. It's a proper adventure, perfect for photographers wanting to capture something a bit different, or anyone who enjoys the quiet thrill of wreck exploration without the pressure of deep dives.
