GANADERA - Mar del Plata

Ganadera isn't your typical pretty reef dive, and that's precisely why we love it. This is a cold-water wreck, a sunken freighter sitting upright in a shallow 5 metres of water, right off the coast of Mar del Plata. The real draw here is the sheer history you can feel as you swim through it. Sunlight filters down, illuminating the rusty skeletal remains of the deck and cargo holds. We've spent countless dives here, ducking inside the open compartments, watching the light play on the metal. It’s an easy dive, perfect for newer wreck enthusiasts or photographers who appreciate the drama of a decaying ship. We always suggest going at high tide; the visibility often improves, and the surge lessens, making it easier to explore without getting tossed around. Look closely and you’ll spot anemones clinging to the metal, and we often see small schools of fish darting in and out of the cracks. It's a gritty, atmospheric dive, offering a unique glimpse into Mar del Plata's maritime past.
