GLADYS - Mar del Plata

GLADYS isn't about deep blue or dramatic walls. It’s about history, about how the ocean reclaims its own, right in front of the city. We love this site for its accessibility and the sheer contrast it offers – a sunken fishing boat just a few fin kicks from the bustling shore. She’s a dangerous wreck, officially, but at four metres, it’s really more of a gentle giant, broken up enough to be interesting without being intimidating. You’ll spend your dive weaving through her ribs and rusted plates. We've seen an incredible amount of small stuff here: blennies peeking from crevices, anemones clinging to every surface, and schools of silversides darting through the superstructure. Our favourite thing to do is hunt for nudibranchs along the shallower sections, where the light plays beautifully through the water. It’s a perfect site for snorkelers too, or divers looking for a relaxed, shallow exploration, perhaps a multi-stage safety stop after a deeper offshore dive. Just keep an eye on the surge if there's any swell.
