INDIA III - Mar del Plata

INDIA III is a curious site, one of those wrecks that tells a story even before you get in the water. We always recommend checking this one out. It’s a merchant cruiser, and a dangerous wreck by official classification, but what that really means for divers is a chance to explore history right on the surface. We love that it sits so shallow, barely breaking the surface at low tide, making it accessible for a snorkel or even just a good look from shore if the conditions are right. When you duck under, you’re not diving deep, but you are getting an intimate look at a ship slowly surrendering to the sea. The metalwork is heavily encrusted, a tapestry of barnacles and soft corals, and you’ll often spot small fish darting in and out of the rusted beams. On a calm day, the sunlight plays through the skeletal remains of the deck, illuminating schools of silversides flickering around the structure. It’s an interesting pick for anyone keen on wreck photography or just wanting to experience the raw power of the ocean claiming back its own, without the need for heavy gear. Don't expect dramatic depths, but do expect a unique, shallow exploration.
