Norden - Mar del Plata

The Norden wreck isn't about depth or vibrant reef colours; it's about history and the surprising life that finds a home where it shouldn't. Lying just six metres down, this isn't some deep technical dive, but a proper adventure for anyone who loves a good story. We love that it’s so accessible, a fantastic first wreck dive for newer divers, but equally fascinating for experienced folks looking for something a bit different. You'll fin through the remains of a German cargo ship, torpedoed in 1945, with its stern still largely intact. We always try to time our dive for a calm day, as visibility here can be temperamental, but when it's good, you can make out the ship's lines quite clearly. Look closely into the shadowy compartments, and you'll spot conger eels, their heads poking out from crevices, and thick schools of hake darting through the rusted metal. The real joy here is exploring the way the ocean has claimed it, the sense of quiet history beneath the waves. It’s a compelling site, a gentle reminder of the past, and a testament to nature's resilience.
