PARKER - Mar del Plata

Okay, Parker. We know what you're thinking: Mar del Plata? For diving? But hear us out. The Parker, a bulk carrier that found its final resting place just off the coast, isn't about tropical fish or pristine visibility. It's about history, atmosphere, and a surprisingly robust local ecosystem. At only 4 meters deep, this is a wreck anyone can enjoy, and we love it for its accessibility. You'll descend into that distinct Atlantic chill, a rich green hue filtering the sunlight, to find the Parker's skeletal remains. Her masts still reach towards the surface, a stark silhouette against the sky. We've spent hours poking around the deck, imagining her working life. Shoals of silversides often shimmer around the superstructure, and if you look closely, you'll spot plenty of blennies tucked into crevices and anemones waving gently from the metalwork. Our favourite time to dive it is on a calm, sunny morning after a few days without strong wind. The light penetration is better then, and the water tends to settle. It's an easy dive, a real taste of maritime history, and a chance to see how life adapts, even in these cooler waters.
