QUO VADIS - Mar del Plata

Quo Vadis, sitting at 26 metres, isn't your average Mar del Plata dive. We think it’s a standout for a reason. This isn't some perfectly intact ghost ship; the wreck is broken, twisted steel, a testament to the South Atlantic's power. What makes it special, though, is how nature has reclaimed it. You descend into the gloom, and the structure slowly materialises, a dark silhouette against the murkier depths. Visibility here can be temperamental, so pick a calm day, ideally after a few days without strong winds. We love how the metal beams have become artificial reefs, covered in anemones and sponges. You’ll find conger eels peering from every crevice, and schools of hake dart through the gaps where the hull has collapsed. Our favourite part is navigating the scattered debris field; it feels like an archaeological dig down there. It’s a site best suited for divers comfortable with overhead environments and limited visibility, but the rewards are worth it. Just remember, this is a dangerous wreck, respect it, don't penetrate.
