SHINA - Mar del Plata

The Shina, a fishing vessel that ran aground in a storm back in '89, sits right on the shoreline near Mar del Plata. What makes this wreck interesting isn't its depth – it's barely submerged, often breaking the surface – but its accessibility and transformation. We've seen it change over the years; barnacles, mussels, and various crabs have made a home in its exposed ribs and the deeper sections of the hull. It's a great spot for snorkelers or very shallow freediving, perfect for getting up close to the wreck structure and the small, hardy critters that cling to it, without needing any serious gear. Think of it more as a very natural, open-air aquarium built around a piece of maritime history.
