Tabaré II - Mar del Plata

The Tabaré II, a coaster vessel, went down in 1971 after catching fire while under tow. Now she sits upright in a shallow 5 metres of water, making her a perfect spot for new divers or anyone wanting a relaxed, long bottom time. We love poking around her exposed deck, the superstructure showing clearly, and imagining the drama that sent her to the seabed. Though the story behind her sinking is a bit murky, the life around her certainly isn't. Expect to find plenty of crabs scuttling over her metal plates, various schooling fish darting in and out of her hold, and anemones clinging to every available surface. It’s a proper historical dive without any of the deep-water pressure.
