Taio II - Mar del Plata

The Taio II, sunk right off Mar del Plata’s coast, is a shallow wreck, only reaching a maximum depth of 4 metres. What it lacks in depth, it makes up for in character. This old sailing vessel still has its masts largely intact, standing like skeletal fingers against the surface, and that’s what makes it so unique. We love seeing the sun filter through the remains of the rigging. It’s an easy, calm dive, great for anyone looking to get acquainted with wreck diving, or just a relaxing dip. You'll spot schools of small fish weaving through the deck structures, and the occasional spider crab hunkering down in the hull. Visibility can vary, but on a good day, the Taio II is a charming look at history and the beginnings of an artificial reef.
