Windy II - Mar del Plata

Windy II isn't your typical deep wreck, and that's precisely why we love it. Sitting in just two metres of water right off Mar del Plata, this isn’t about penetration or chasing pelagics. It’s a historical relic, a fishing trawler that met its end, now a gnarly, twisted skeleton of metal. We’re talking about a wreck so shallow you could almost snorkel it, but diving it reveals a completely different character. The real magic here is the light. Sunlight streams through the water, illuminating every barnacle-covered beam and every nook where small fish hide. You'll spend your dive spotting blennies darting between corroded plating and nudibranchs clinging to the hull. It’s an intimate dive, a chance to really slow down and appreciate how quickly the sea reclaims its own. Our favourite time to dive it is late afternoon, when the sun dips lower and casts long, dancing shadows through the kelp that sways around the wreck. If you’re into macro photography or just enjoy a chill, explorative dive without the pressure of depth, Windy II is a genuinely unique experience.
