Jamanta Dive Center - Arraial do Cabo
The team at Jamanta Dive Center are the real deal, no fuss, just solid diving. They’re our go-to for a proper introduction to Arraial’s surprisingly robust diving scene, especially if you’re looking to get certified with PADI. We love that they focus on small groups, which means you’re not just another tank on the boat, and the instructors actually have time for you. We’ve had some of our clearest dives with Jamanta, particularly around Ilha dos Porcos, where the currents can bring in schooling grunts and the occasional moray eel peeking from the cracks. Their setup is straightforward: a decent rental kit, well-maintained, and boats that are comfortable enough for a few dives out on the water. We’d suggest going with them early in the week if you can, before the weekend crowds descend. It makes a big difference to how relaxed your experience feels, both on the boat and below the surface. They’re honest about conditions too. If the viz isn't great, they’ll tell you, and often suggest the best local spots for what’s working on the day. That kind of candour is hard to beat.
