Oceano Sub - Arraial do Cabo
If you're heading to Arraial do Cabo, and you really should, Oceano Sub is where we'd send you. These guys run a seriously tight ship, and it’s clear from the moment you step foot in the centre that they’re passionate about what they do. We think they’re particularly brilliant for divers looking to go pro, as a PADI 5 Star IDC Resort, their instructor development courses are top-notch. They’re a great pick for beginners too, handling those first breaths underwater with a relaxed, confident manner that just puts you at ease. The boat rides out can get a bit choppy sometimes, but their crew handles it all with smiles and good humour. We’ve found their local site knowledge truly impressive, always finding the best spots based on the day’s conditions, whether it’s a sheltered cove buzzing with sergeant majors or a drift over a reef patrolled by green sea turtles. If you’re lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of the schooling barracuda that sometimes hang around the deeper pinnacles. Our favourite memory is a late afternoon dive with them, the sunbeams slicing through the water, illuminating clouds of tiny glassfish. A proper Arraial experience.
