With 71+ marine species recorded in the area - including barracuda and pufferfish - El Oasis offers some of Malpelo Island's richest pinnacle diving. Water ranges 28-30°C, warmest September, October, November.
El Oasis often delivers on its name, a calmer spot amidst Malpelo’s usual vigour. We've found this is a good site for seeing schools of hammerheads cruise by, sometimes in significant numbers. Keep an eye out for free-swimming moray eels too. It’s a solid choice for divers looking for predictable pelagic action without the most intense currents.
