Inner Mohegan
Why dive here
With 71+ marine species recorded in the area - including barracuda and pufferfish - Inner Mohegan offers some of Malpelo Island's richest reef diving. Water ranges 28-30°C, warmest September, October, November.
Inner Mohegan provides a good look at Malpelo’s hard coral formations. We’ve found it’s a site for appreciating the reef’s structure and the smaller, shyer residents, rather than the big pelagics Malpelo is famous for. You’ll often spot moray eels tucked into crevices here. It’s a calmer dive, good for taking your time and observing.
