With 71+ marine species recorded in the area - including barracuda and pufferfish - La Paguera offers some of Malpelo Island's richest diving. Water ranges 28-30°C, warmest September, October, November.
La Paguera, off Malpelo Island, delivers a reliable show of the usual suspects for the area. We’ve found hammerhead sharks cruising along the deeper ledges and often see red-lipped batfish perched on the rocks. It’s a site that works well for divers keen on Pelagics without the need for extreme depths. We’d suggest keeping an eye on the currents here, they can pick up quickly.
