La Pared del Náufrago - Malpelo Island

La Pared del Náufrago, or "Wall of the Shipwrecked," is an epic drift dive along Malpelo's sheer rock face. We’ve found ourselves finning through schools of Oriental Bonito so thick they ripple like liquid silver. It's a true pelagic highway here, with Smoothtail Mobulas often gliding past, their wingtips almost brushing the rock. Keep an eye out for Blackfin barracudas hanging in the blue, and we’ve spotted Oceanic Manta Rays cruising the thermoclines more than once. The wall itself is riddled with crevices where Glasseye Snappers and Slenderjaw morays peek out, and we love the subtle beauty of the Cauliflower corals clinging on. This site is for divers comfortable with current, ready to be carried along and absorb the sheer scale of Malpelo's underwater drama.
