The Witties
Why dive here
With 71+ marine species recorded in the area - including barracuda and pufferfish - The Witties offers some of Malpelo Island's richest reef diving. Water ranges 28-30°C, warmest September, October, November.
The Witties, a prominent reef at Malpelo, offers divers a chance to see the big stuff. We've often found schooling hammerheads patrolling the deeper sections here, with silvertips making an appearance too. It’s a site for experienced divers comfortable with variable conditions and the consistent potential for strong currents. Come prepared for an open-ocean drift and keep your eyes peeled.
